A year ago today things started to really turn around for me, after 7 months redundant, I was offered a job. Still absolutely love it, have just started my level 3 business and administration and life is great!
What were you doing a year ago and what have you achieved?

I've had a cr*ppy few months: lost my job; my car engine died without warning and the whole thing still has to be replaced, but food's more of a priority at the mo'; then lost my lovely, lovely nan suddenly and have had a few medical problems, BUT things are looking up; I've been offered a fab new job to start the week after next, so fingers crossed it's the start of lots of good things. :)
So glad that things have turned round for you, I hope that it carries on doing the same. A year ago was pretty much the same as it is now, when we first moved here (2 years ago) I felt very isolated, being away from long standing friends and places that were in my comfort zone. I have now established a new circle of friends who are of the same age and mind set as me so I feel a lot happier.
Her marriage is over, she left her home, and she lost her job, so no car, no equity in the house, and she was feeling ill at the time too. Now she is turning the corner, the house is sold, she has met someone else and is renting a flat, and started a new job two weeks ago. She lives quite a long way away from us so it has been a worry. By the end of next month we'll know how much she needs to pay off the house.
AYG - we had to declare ourselves bankrupt two weeks before thing 1 and 2 arrived, we got evicted and I couldn't tell anyone (because of the shame). Didn't even have 20p for boy #1 to buy Pudsey toast on Children In Need day. Husband started a new business and his 'partner' stole everything six weeks after my mother died and three days after my grandad died (and I was in the hospital with thing 2). We lived in his mother in law's house (so out on our ear again). Still here, everyone well and happy. Sugar happens! Good luck to your daughter, x.
