A friend of mine's son is having serious problems understanding women and getting them to go out with him. Neither she nor I feel able or qualified to guide him. Are there any appropriate books you'd recommend that she can give him?

not really because a book cannot answer individual questions! but, let's start at the beginning: is he well turned out with interesting

hobbies and own home and car? if yes, he may be just shy and should not try to change himself; if no, he should work on himself a bit and through his hobbies and work increase his social circle! women INTEND to be an enigma, so he is not alone in not understanding us!
This video might give him a start:

Or; Google How to Date Women. Plenty of ideas there.
Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus, or Brain Sex. Not so much for dating but certainly it opens your eyes to major psychological differences between the sexes and brilliantly explains the grades of difference between us all in general life and sex.

The books also make you realise why there are feminine men, masculine women and all the transgender sexuality in between as well as being bisexual. They also explain a lot about about fetishes as well.

There are a lot of bigots and opinionated folk in these matters on AB who would benefit from readng these two tomes as well.
He would be better off studying Advanced Quantum Mechanics. It is far simpler than what goes on in the minds of women.
Women often claim that men are poor communicators but the truth is that women are generally very poor listeners when it comes to hearing what men have to say. Women tend to be emotionally self obsessed and instead of listening to what the man is saying they are thinking about how they can put a slant on the converstaion to get it back to being about themselves.

Eventually a lot of men abandon any attempt to communicate with women on an emotional level because is seem so futile. Women then feel justified in the accusation that men are poor communicators.
What is there not to understand about women? All he needs to do is find one who knows her place
Loll Joe.

How old is this guy? Will he not feel deeply embarrassed if his Mum gives him a book on "how to date women"?
I don't see why he would need to understand women, just to get a date. It's not *that* difficult, surely?
*lol.
bet that gets you reported, joeluke.......
Why would someone report that, DTcrosswordfan?
Just for reportings sake flip
Oh, I see. In other words... just to be pathetic.
absolutely, some good old fashioned misogynism..... lol
As I said...
A copy of Mayfair or Club International may be just as good.
I think, by the sounds of things, that would get more use...
lol
Is your friend's son filthy rich?

If he is not then he does not stand a chance with women. Sorry to be so negative but that is the way it is I have learned.
There are any number of 'for Dummies' books so maybe there's one on women?
What a load of crap jonnyboy, some of us don't need a fat wallet to attract women
