Sqad, for the past 3 days my throat has been feeling dry and it feels like I have a soft lump when I swallow spittle, do you think it`s worth a visit to my GP?

carlton 3 days is't long and providing that you can swallow, then I would monitor the situation for a week or so.

tamirra.......the question was about "catching" shingles from someone else, NOT how do you get shingles........2 different things.

Yes, if you have had chickenpox as a child the virus can be "brought to light" so to speak.

The questioner wanted to know if she/he could catch it from someone who had shingles.....and that what I answered.

I can add nothing to the answer that shaney star has given........exept to say that the long term effects have not been made clear.

No, I do not think that it is available on the NHS OR being performed in the UK.
