Nope. Does it actually happen mung? By the way, deja is all one word (I'm thinking of joining the spelling police). I think there is another word for what you describe, but I can't think of it at the moment. Might be precognition, but not sure. Deja vu is when you go to a place that you have never been before and recognise certain aspects of it as if you had seen it in a previous life.
Its actually caused by different parts of your brain processing information at different speeds giving the impression of seeing the future. Its totally normal and has nothing to do with being psychic.
I never believed I was psychic! I thought it was deja vu becasue it feels like I have been here before and I know that something bad will happen. Obviously after about 5 seconds I am back to normal and know nothng will happen. Still not a nice experience. I get it about once or twice a day.
I came to realise that my experiences of deja vu seemed to directly coincide with my 'morning after the night before' status......which I feel, back up the theory that it is 'brain-process' related rather than anything external.
It is definitely a brain process. I have read lots of the research about it because a close relative suffered with it a great deal. Most of us get it, but if it is happening all the time then it's worth seeing a GP.
I agree admarlow. I can understand how this kind of thing can delude people into thinking they are psychic. I would be rumbled pretty fast as none of my 'premonitions' have ever come true!
Sorry, I didn't want to worry you. For most people it's perfectly normal. My relative was suffering to a great extent and almost everthing that happened she insisted had happened before.
I used to get this alot when i was a child and it worried me for years that there was something wrong with me until i finally asked my mum when i was a teenager.
i can understand how this is due to brain processes and electrical impulses being out of synch. mine tend to last more like a minute than a few seconds.
I still get this occasionally and I've noticed it does tend to be when I'm particularly stressed and busy. twice a day does sound quite frequent though mungbeanz.
