Do you mean a Poetry section/topic?
Ah- I think you mean births, weddings and RIPs.
We do seem to have a few recently.
And farewells to people going to pastures new :-(

"Announcements"... We could do, but doesn't CB cover it? Or do you mean a non-chatty topic for it?

I like that idea, it would be useful for people that rarely log in or people who have been absent for a period. not to mention it would keep people up to date with whats going on (announcements ect)
something more structured would be nice... and some of the sadder threads probably don't sit too well in CB where there is a degree of light heartedness
cb is too fast moving to be honest ed, if someone posts an announcement depending on the traffic it could be missing by the evening if there are a lot of posts in that time.
I think CB covers it....

I think some people get bored of it though...

But hey, Claireeno made 1,400 quid for leaving Ireland....that's worthy of a post :-)

Maybe a topic for news about users.

(and people just leaving the site could be said to have 'scratched')
I agree with rowan, some announcements are quite sombre and its at odds with the whole free spirited light heartedness of CB
I suppose...
A "Where (who) are they now?" topic would be interesting because I often wonder what happened to regulars who disappear, but I can understand why the Ed wouldn't want us going on about banned users.
Maybe a kind of message/notice board?
With a subsection for FAOs, etc. they also disappear so quickly and get missed.
i like that idea, there should be cake tho
great idea, births, deaths, engagements, weddings, divorces, and where is so/so ,
Ed.....A serious section for announcements such as " Ron has gone, he's passed on: the sage died of old age. Thank god, he was a sod".

Please withhold from publication until I tell you.!!

Ron.
What about "Members' News"? exclusively for information like this, and not to be used for discussing other things (or slagging each other off ;-( )
Good idea! In fact a very good idea. Things get lost quickly in CB. Unless you are permanently on AB you miss a great deal of these announcements.

So yes please Ed. give it a go!!
