I constantly want to spend a penny but have none of the passing broken glass feeling.

Is it possible to have a water infection, like cystitis, but without any pain?

Thanks all

No pain...then no cystitis.

What you are describing is a degree of stress incontinence with a degree of retention with overflow probably due to a complication of childbirth e.g cystocoel.
I've got the broken glass feeling - been getting it on & off since sunday - just a couple of hours at a time; but today it's really bad. I've got some cysticalm, just had one, but it's awful - are there any other quick fixes rather than going to the doc's?
Meg....try Cranberry Juice tablets, and drink plenty of fluid. Give it a week if there is no improvement, then see your GP.
Thanks Sqad - I've some cranberry soluble solution which I've to take 3 times daily, shall I take tablets on top or just stay as I am?
Meg....I would take both tablets and the juice.
I wouldn't wait for a week.
A day maybe, but if it wasn't significantly better in 24 hours I'd go and get the antibiotics.
Cystitis is the absolute pits.
ladyalex........there is nothing in the posts to suggest that it is cystitis...
CHickadee's post doesn't suggest cystitis, but Meg is peeing broken glass, which sounds pretty diagnostic to me...
Apparently drinking a glass of cranberry juice everyday may help to prevent bladder problems etc but once you have an infection it will do nothing to ease or cure it.

ladyalex.......maybe. I was getting confused with the symptoms of Chickadee...........you are correct.

I used to get cystitis when I was younger, and found that drinking cranberry juice did alleviate the symptoms considerably, along with pain relief.
Pastafreak, I couldnt possibly be wrong I have just undertaken a UTI course provided by our NHS service. :)xx
I can't drink Cranberry juice when I have cystitis, it dries my mouth out terribly! I usually stick to Robinson's Lemon Barley juice. If that doesn't work I buy the sachets of stuff from the chemist and i'm usually better within 24 hours, if not then antibiotics from the GP.
I was plagued by cystitis as a child. If I got cold on the lower half of my body I got it. If I sat on a cold wall or a stone step for more than a couple of minutes I got it. I had all sorts of tests in hospital but they never found anything untoward. The doctor said I would grow out of it and I did. The last time I had it was because I walked from a car park to a pub in February cold weather without a coat. That was enough to give me cystitis. I feel for anyone who gets it. They say that if you keep going to the loo when your bladder isn`t full you can educate it to want to keep emptying. My mate has that problem. She goes to the loo about every 30 mins and it has become a habit. Maybe that is the situation with the OP
