Good morning Sqad, following on from my last post regarding my ear infection. I have now finished the antibiotics and drops and my ears are still really painful I am back at doctors tomorrow. Is it normal for it to go on so long with no improvement at all ? TIA

Well a diagnosis has to be established and from what you say it is otitis externa.

This can be a "sod" to treat and yes it can remain painful for some weeks especially if the causative organism isn't established with certainty, although it is almost always bacterial.

I would be interested to hear the comments of your doctor tomorrow.

Hi Sqad been back to GP and infection is now in ear drum .Been given more antibiotics and a spray to use .
