I overheard a man talking to his bank on the phone on the bus concerned that his account has been hacked. Turned out to be fine from what I could gather (he was very loud - I'm not that nosy haha) but I wondered how many people on here have been the victims of crime.

Yes, burglary.
I've had cars nicked and a couple of burglaries.
yes numerous. recently I had my car broken into.

I have been the victim of mainly thefts or vandalism.
My last house was burgled, the police were round within 15 minutes and they actually caught the culprits a couple of weeks later...............wouldn't happen nowadays.

I had a bar of Galaxy stolen only two days ago.
(and I caught a burglar once)

I had a purse stolen and tack from a stable. I'm thankful that's all compared to others.

I've had my bank details stolen after Lush had been hacked.. they took over £300 and I was only one of thousands of victims.

Don't know if this counts but someone stole the aerial off my car once. And the boy from the ASBO family a couple of doors down keyed my car.
Oh .. and I receive sexually explicit texts from someone ..
usually on a Friday.
Yes, burglary and my car broken into, also credit card fraud and ATM fraud
I got a phone call, a couple of years ago, from someone claiming to be from Santander and asking about my recent ATM transactions. I was naturally very wary but it turned out to be a genuine call. Santander's system had picked up three withdrawals from my account, made in East London, totalling £800. My card had never left my wallet for over a year. (It was only a cash machine card, not a debit card, so I'd never used it any shops or garages). Yet someone had still managed to clone it and get hold of my PIN.

I suspect that Santander (and possibly other banks as well) had become aware of a high number of unusual withdrawals from the same cash machines because they refunded my money, with very little hassle, in a fairly short time.
There's an idea for a new Soap Erin ..

The Asbo Family.
Well they do cause enough trouble to keep a soap going lol! Bunch of nutters so they are :|
Yep - about 8 years ago - woman knocked on door said she was doing a sponsored skydive jump for the deaf school her daughter attended. She had lots of names on her clipboard, she seemed a little skittish, but I had seen she had knocked on other doors, I asked her where she was doing the skydive and she said in Kent. I gave her a fiver.

It was never in our local paper, which normally charity skydives normally are.

About 6 months later I rang the local paper, just to make a few enquiries, and they had never heard of anything that related to it.

2 Years later, there she was in our local paper - she had been done for fraud and had got around 3 years in jail. Apparently she was a druggie and had conned hundreds of pounds out of people in and around the area.

Doh !
You were lucky Chris.............someone withdrew £250 from my Halifax account and even though I had a letter from my boss stating I was at work when this happened the sodding Halifax wouldn't give me my money back.
Needless to say I no longer have a sodding Halifax account.
Yes, I've had my card details stolen (still can't work out how) and I was attacked once in a case of mistaken identity.
Oh and burgled.
i have, any number of times, burgled, purse stolen on two occasions, some other stuff i am not going to mention, but suffice to say i hope the person rots in hell.
I was conned out of £600 once as well.
