I have been noticing a dull ache in my left leg, especially at night, which keeps me awake. It is below the knee at the back, towards the inside of the leg, and above the knee at the thigh, on the outside of the leg so it uncomfortable to sleep on it. I am worried it could be something to do with arteries, is it anything to worry about ? or should I just take a paracetamol ? There is no reason why this should happen, its just out of the blue around once a week.

smurfy....it is EXTREMELY that the pain that you have described is of arterial malfunction......extremely unlikely.

It sounds arthritic in origin and if paracetamol eases the pain...then carry on using the.
soory...missed out an "UNLIKELY" in the first line.

But you get my drift:-)

Thanks sqad ... if it was arteries or veins (I am on statins so am worried about strokes etc) could the left leg hurt and if so, would it be really painful? Its not painful just nagging ...
smurfy....look at me when I am talking you.......it is nothing to do with veins or arteries.....;-)

Thanks sqad, I hear what you say, I just wondered what the symptoms would be if it were arteries ! You have set my mind at rest, thanks again x
OK...smurfy.

Arteries.....pain in your calf or lower leg on walking.(intermittent claudication)

Veins...whole lower leg swollen and painful.

That is it in a "nutshell"
