Do any abbers know of a reliable website that will tell me why you shouldn't rub the skin after a sub cut injection? thanks

I don't know and i don't trust websites on medical matters.

i've found bit of info in my royal marsden manual !! can cause haematoma apparently xx
naaaah! I don't believe it.....it's the injection that causes the haematoma........not the rubbing.
Depends on how hard you rub it Sqad ;)

i disagree with squad.
ATM i am on s/c injections daily and had a load of trouble with bruising till i stopped rubbing and started using ice

i do believe the medical advice is not to rub !
It depends what has been injected. Sub cut heparin or other anti clot drugs can cause haematomas to form if you rub them, and some others may be absorbed at different rates if you rub enough to disperse the injected substance away from the injection site. Not sure about insulin I might be able to find out and get back to you.
Some of the websites I've checked actually promote gentle rubbing or pressure after insulin injection to improve dispersal.
