Hi all, just an update for those kind people who responded to my question a couple of weeks ago. I think this has been the most raumatic experience of my life, the Dentist (butcher) couldn't get a canular in so I had no sedation only injectins in my mouth, 19 teeth removed. The pain since has been unbelievable I now have an infection and a dry socket (whatever that is). I left hospital half an hour after the alst tooth was removed and told to take paracetamol and I would be fine. The Dr has prescribed penicillin and tramadol because the surgery was undertaken at hospital an hours drive away. I can't get my dentures in and think I have spent most of the tiem since the op on Monday crying with pain, I am so tired and in a low mood I dont know which way to turn I'm sorry this isn't really a question is it but I thought it might help me to get this off my chest a little. Take care all xx
I really feel for you.
I had a dry socket once and it was so painful. Make sure you take every painkiller you can (within their limits). My dentist also said take paracetamol and I would be fine....went to the GP and got much stronger ones plus, like you some antibiotics. It will settle so try not to despair.
You poor thing, that sounds awful - hope you feel better really soon. Tramadol will hopefully help you soon, I found that it takes a couple of days to kick in.
Poor you. So sorry for what's happened to you, and don't be afraid to go to your dentist and/or your GP regarding as much pain relief as you need-I really do hope that you're feeling better soon.
