If you dont usually have long nails they will take some getting used to, have you tried taking money out your purse yet LOL? I have worn them a few times on occasions and found that i will only ever wear them for speacial occasions now like weddings etc. They are just too much hassle for me. Having always had short nails i just can't get on with them all too easily. Another would be to have them a little shorter to start with then replace them with longer ones on as you get used to them. The things we have to do to be girls eh! I suggest you wash up in gloves if you worried that they may come off as for baths well if you have applied them properly they should be fine watch washing your hair too roughly though unless you have had them done by a professional they are not really meant to last too long anyway. If you get used to them and really like them try having them done professionally and buy a high grit(harsher) emery board so if you find that they are too long or as they slowly grow you can keep on top of them and not have them annoying you too much. Good luck.........

Do you wear contact lenses?
i remember the pain of contact lenses when i first got my nails done.  Oh my eyes are streaming at the thought....
Hmmm, depends if you have had acrylics done or just stick on ones, stick ones do tend to come loose after a bath or washing up etc but acrylics won't. I've had acrylics for years and can type fine - you do get used to it - and mine are always quite long (although not Tanya Turner long). Only thing i find tricky is doing up shirt buttons when i'm in a rush or trying to pick up coins or the backs of earrings from the side or something grrrr! If you really like the look of them may be worth trying acyrlics - but find a decent maincurist as there are a lot of dodgy ones that use electric drills and illegal chemicals. I couldn't go back to having skanky bitten nails with the lovely talons i have now! Stick with it, you will get used to it, my fingers feel WEIRD if a nail comes off, gives me the creeps now!
Like you, I have only tried false nails recently and I had the same problems as you! Couple of tips that I have learnt (the hard way!) - make sure you cut your nails as short as you can before putting the false ones on and NEVER rip the false nails off (ripped half my nail off by doing this - very painful!). Wait until they become loose or fall off or buy a remover. They do sell shorter length nails (a good brand for this is Broadway from Boots) which are lovely and are far easier to do every day things with. Also, never buy the nails with the glue already on them - you'll be lucky if they last the evening. The ones where you put on the glue will usually stay on up to a week and you can wash, bath etc with them on - not a problem!
