heres a weight measurement...

64.6 kg = 10.1727 st
OR 10 st and 2.41 lb

so how do you read the first one as 10st 2....?

how does 1727 equal 2...?

is there a way to work that out?

thanks

You need to convert the 10 st to pounds (140) and then kilograms (63.something) then take the difference and convert that.

There's probably a more compact fiormula though
There are 14lb in one stone.

Multiply .1727 stone by 14 and you get 2.4178 lb
the problem you are having is that decimal places (ie . something) are in decimal (unsurprisingly) whereas pounds in stones are not. So 10.5 stone could either be 10 stone seven pounds or 10 stone 5 pounds, depending on which converter you use.

On a more general poit, when rounding up, anything 5 and over is rounded up, anything under 5 is rounded down
Just round down... isn't that what most women do when they get off the scales? ;-p
As Sunny said.

You are muddling fractions of a stone with fractions of a pound. Since it's not a decimal relationship (1st ≠ 10 lbs) then the fraction changes, and consequently the digits after the decimal point do too.

0.1727 st = 2.4178 lbs.
