Does anyone have a view on the health implications of using Amalgam fillings in Dentistry?

Personal view: I would rather not have them. Both the main metals used are very toxic. They do form a stable compound which is supposed not to leak, but given that they can induce a current in the mouth some kind of electromigration must take place. The only problem is that the composite ones are not as reliable.
