I get like that sometimes.. I usually put music on and i'll eventually fall asleep listening to it.

I'm thinking the wind might keep me up tonight. I hope it doesn't get as bad as it has been =s

Put a talk radio station on low and the sound of voices will help you relax, yours another anxiety sufferer xxx.

Ive put the fire on
Which is really a dvd of a fireplace lol
But the crackling is soothing...
Thanks guys
Just a brief flip out!!! :0/ xx
Get into a sleep habit, ie horlicks/ovaltine/cocoa/warm milk. Your brain will know its time to shut off & let you sleep.
Tinks, I have a terrible sleeping pattern after witnessing a suicide in oct 2010. I have been given temazepan which doesnt seem to work. I need to get up for work at 6am and I'm usually still awake at 4. I always become panicy and often think I will never wake up for work and I'll be dead on my feet. For some reason I am fine at work, I get home knackered and could sleep there and then but too scared to incase I cant sleep again at night. It's a vicious circle.
I have been advised to have no electricals in my bedroom (which I clearly ignore because I am on my laptop in my bed lol) and spray lavender around the room. I think it's habit with me, I think I talk myself out of going to sleep.

I hope you manage to get some sleep, I know how awful it is.

Take care doll :) xx
I usually read until my eyelids feel droopy. Make sure the book or magazine
is one that wont give you nightmares. Also make sure you room is not too
stuffy or too cold, just comfortable. You can also get sprays from Avon to
spray on your pillowcase to enhance sleep. Sweet dreams. cupid04.xx.
There is not really an easy solution to insomnia.

I haven't slept well for 10+ years and it isn't helped by the fact that I had to give up working due to dodgy psychiatric health.

The harder you try and the more that you worry about sleeping the worse it will seem to get. I get overtired and cranky (like a toddler) and can sometimes sleep for a couple of hours in a deep sleep - but I never sleep for much longer.

If you manage to occupy yourself during the day and tire yourself out then this might get you back into a regular sleep pattern.

There is nothing worse than managing to get off to sleep only to be stomped all over by a 'starving' tom cat wanting his breakfast, or his sister screeching in my ear.

Go for a walk with your dog - I used to do that but he was big and fierce.

:-)
Also if you spend hours on the computer that dosen't help, it makes your
mind more active. I know it's very addictive on here, but try and cut back a
little. I should listen to my own advice! I'm off to bed now to read and then
sleep hopefully.

Thanks all! I feel the same ! Sometimes its as if sleep scares me lo
Valid point cupid but im usually on my phone..and my phone is permenantly attached to my hand lol x
I suffer the same tinkerbell. If I get up, make a cuppa and have a couple of biscuits and watch something like Open University on the television for half an hour or so, it makes me feel relaxed and I can go back to sleep. The worse thing is actually staying in bed. Much better to get up for a a while.
sleeplessness is a big problem in getting health issues under control, at least it is for me, if can't sleep, or keep on coughing like before then there little to do but prop yourself up and try and relax, not easy i know,
