Do people take pleasure in being total a-holes?

our neighbours who we don't get on with any more, mainly due to their kids behaviour and the fact that they are lying b's, went out of the way to be awkward today but it didn't quite come off. We've been getting a lot of work done on our house and have a skip in the driveway and the other half of the drive has been used by the joiner/tilers to cut their wood/tiles - they have then parked their vans across the driveway which leaves me no room to park but doesn't get in anyone else's way. We have 4 spare parking bays in the street that we can use.
However, if I am a minute or two late getting home from work, the street (cul-de-sac) is full of cars of people who park in it to pick their kids up from school - yesterday I had real problems parking anywhere and had to abandon the car until the school run was finished, then move it into one of the bays - My neighbour was out and saw that I had bother getting a space.
Anyhoo, comes home today - a bit earlier only to see that despite her drive being empty, she had parked her car badly and used up 2 of the spare spaces - there was absolutely no reason for her to do that other than to be awkward. She must have been so disappointed that the guys had finished up early and I could park in the drive!!! Some people eh.....

But I certainly wouldn't go out my way just to be a pain.........or maybe I would now ;o)
micmak - I feel your pain. Most of the houses have a double driveway apart form the smaller ones - the extra spaces tend to sit empty unless people have a lot of visitors - even then, it's a wide enough street to allow most people to have one or more card parked across the driveway too. We are next to the school though so people tend to come into the street at kicking out time to collect sprogs which is generally fine too.
yeah, the same here - their kids are a nightmare - they have behavioral issues and the police were regular visitors for a while - been a bit quieter over the winter but expect that it'll kick off again when the light nights are back :o( - I have to keep my kids away from them which meant that my boys really didn't get the use of the local park etc last year. I just wish they'd move...

Parking spaces are a sensitive issue
We have huge problems with parking where I live in a close
We have one family who have 5 cars between them and they save spaces for each other. They deliberately park across 2 spaces or they form a box'd off area by parking one of their cars at a horizontal with another taking up 4 spaces all together
They know exactly what they are doing and are utterly selfish.
The sons have those horrible boom boxes on their exhausts. They start there engines at 4.30 am and again at 11 pm and sit there for a good 7/8 minutes waking myself up and my daughter. In the evenings it was longer. They must have been waking other neighbours up as well
I say must have and was because I complained about the noise nuisance and it has stopped.
Can;t do anything about the parking because the cars are taxed and legal
So, what do we do now? not a lot we can do. I'm not lowering myself to stoop to their level
