My nearly 13 year old son has started to whiff a bit, he showers everyday but I think it's time maybe for a stick of underarm. Is this the right age do you think, I'm always wary of loads of chemicals on the skin. I've just seen an American website and one of the mums let their kids as young as 4 use it, apparently they don't want smelly kids!

I dont like sprays because they make me cough and splutter and I dont think they last as long
Any good roll on will suffice

Oh, and my 8 year old has used deo before now
She literally leaves sweat marks :(

Asda do a very nice roll-on. Own brand. I used to like Dove but now find it too greasy.

I use Sanex roll on which is paraben free [no cancer giving agents] so great for a young one.

Alum crystals work very well, one stick will last a couple of years and only costs a few quid.

Let him choose his own rocky- it's a real milestone for a young man choosing his own smellies:)

There is this brand-and it's natural...surely the best for a child...and I can't see children -whether boy or girl-needing a lot of smellies at that age.

Nox I'd love to bring him along to pick his own but when soap dodging skills were handed out my boy got his and everyone elses share. I made OH have a hygiene chat with him yesterday, he took no bloody notice, OH said it was like talking to a brick wall. He doesn't smell all the time but it won't be long before kids at school start to take the pee.

Pastafreak, bless you, this is exactly what I was looking for, I didn't know they made this as a spray, it used to be just a rock, and in Boots as well, it used o be online. I used it years ago.

Try using Tea Trea oil, a couple of drops under each arm every morning, it kills the bacteria which causes the smell. A bit smelly when you first put it on, but does the job and no aluminium which can cause cancer, as is in deodorants.

I'll never forget when I was training to be a youth worker, the first night I opened the doors, and was engulfed by the smell of 50 or so teenagers............not for the faint-hearted!
