I've been taking it for years, to counteract the effects of other medication. It hasn't caused any problems.
Question Author
what other meds do you take?
Question Author
isn't this medicine zantac?
Yes. Some months it has one name on the packet, sometimes the other.
sorry, missed your first question. Oruvail/ketoprofin, an NSAID for arthritis.
Question Author
I had this before then, and had an adverse affect. Should i tell the doctor this.
I'm not qualified to answer that, but I should think so, if he/she doesn't know already.
Question Author
i am not going to bang on about symptoms as before, but i do know i have had acid reflux for years, and the doctor has prescribed this, i took omeprazole before but that caused constipation. I am due to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy, but don't know when.
Question Author
sorry that should be rinitidine, must learn to spell these names
Your pharmacist should have noticed your other meds and any contraindication
It's possible your NSAID's contribute towards the reflux, you must always eat when taking those
Question Author
oj, is that info for me?
yes =)
Question Author
it was prescribed by the doctor, they may not have realised i had zantac before as it was some time back.
oh and I take ranitidine - it's in lots of different named brands and non branded items
I generally buy ASDA's own. A pack of 12 for £1
it's the same thing
If you use the same pharmacist your details will still be on their records
Question Author
i need to speak with the doctor
pharmacist would be better em
Question Author
no, because the pharmacist doesn't know me or my medical history. They just dispense the stuff.
LOL. yes, because they are more likely to have up to date information to know better about contraindications

It's up to you, but really, pharmacist is better
also quicker
