about my 15yr old son with his asthma, well to cut a long storyshort, he had a bad bout, and has now got over the worse thank god.
anyhow what I want to ask is this
He has now got a brown inhaler which he takes two puffs in morn and at night, but my son is complaining of hard heart beats, which we had checked out about a week ago and everthing was fine(saying its because he fit etc) but again today he is saying his chest hurts( not pounding) but sore, again had him checked out and sounded fine. I am worried any suggestions> help? Sqad?

The brown inhaler is almost certainly a steroid and they come with minimal side effects, so i feel that the "sore chest" is nothing to do with his medication.
After a bad attack of asthma, as happened to your, there is almost always a certain amount of muscular strain and i feel that this may well be the cause of your son's symptoms. It is hardly likely to be cardiac in nature.
Monitor the situation and if the chest pain is inconveniencing him, then do give him an analgesic.

hey twoboys - i know sqad answered your question and seems to have helped (as he always does, bless!). Anyway, i just thought i'd mention some advice my mum took when my brother suffered badly with asthma - avoid dairy! completely! our whole family went from full fat milk, cream, cheese, chocolate etc to skimmed milk, no butter and basically no dairy. Maybe a little excessive but it certainly seemed to work so perhaps you could try reducing his dairy intake and see how it goes. Swimming always appeared to help as well. May be worth a shot. I can remember as a child taking my turn to sit up with my brother trying to get some sleep when he could barely breath - horrible then, and i can't imagine how it was for my parents, or you xx
