Beta Blockers - Propranolol

Has anyone else been on it?  Did you suffer any of the side effects?
I've got the pins and needles, the wierd dreams and the cold hands and feet - but they're all listed on the notes anyone so I'm not alarmed by that.  Suddenly finding myself short of breath is a bit scary though.  It's like the tablets are slowing my heart rate down TOO much and then my body panics and wants me to get loads of oxygen in to make up the shortfall.  I get this when I'm sitting still, lying down or generally relaxing.

And I'm only on the tablets to cure headaches!!

Have you been on them?  What was your experience?  Did it solve the headaches?  Were you also precribed 11 painkillers a day, so you didn't really know if it was the painkillers or the Beta Blockers that were doing the trick?

Thanks! :-)

I was on beta blockers for 8 days & was taken off them due to some of the side affects you mention. They didn't agree with me at all.

Mine were prescribed for an irregualr heartbeat, so I didn't take pain killers...

I was on Propranolol for Panic Attacks and also found myself short of breath, I put it down to also being asthmatic, but I came off them anyway, only took them for about a week!
I was also on these for Panic Attacks and came off them after a week, because I was shaking with cold and short of breath (that was not a symptom of panic, as I did not have either before).

Thanks for your answers so far guys - I do appreciate it! :-)  After ending up in A&E (ER for any US readers unfamiliar with thephrase) last night I think I will go to the doctor today and ask for a change of tablets!!

Thank you for your help though.  If anyone else wants to post, please feel free though! :-)

i am horrified that they are prescribing 11 painkillers a day - surely this v.bad news for your kidneys/liver?

I have been on this pill for a few (4) years as a blood thinner. I have had a few of the side effects but not bad enough to stop takeing it. I have no head aches, but take it for other reasons.
