According to a report in The Sun, two thirds of men let "their women" dress them for work. I can't imagine anything worse in that area. When newly married, my wife went with me into a menswear shop and announced to the assistant "My husband needs a jacket" (which, while conceivably true, was news to me). She hardly lived it down and didn't repeat what apparently had been standard in her family.
So, do you ladies choose your partner's clothes for him and do you men like them to do so?
Depends what age the men are, if they are young i think they tend to buy their own stuff, the older chaps rely on the wives, and its usually beige in colour
I buy most of my other half's clothes, mainly because he doesn't like shopping and has no idea what suits his body shape. He would happily wear a sack if it covered his bits and kept him warm.
I'm 60. My OH often shops for me, I now have a variety of styles and colours in my wardrobe that I would never have selected for myself and am pleased with the result. (I wouldn't dare do the same for her though)
One of my sons-in-law freuently buys clothes for my daughter, which are always appropriate in style and colour. He is a wonderful stereotype breaker for this, being six foot five in height, and almost as far across!
I have revamped Redman a little... just pointed him in the direction of shades that suit his colouring better... (actually I have pretty much blitzed his wardrobe) he agrees it's an improvement... at the same time I listen to his comments on my choices too..knowing he likes the more feminine things best with appropriate underpinnings...
I think it shows how easy going men are. They know their existing clothes are good for years yet, and that the set of clothing that has reached the front of the wardrobe is perfectly ok for today. But keep the peace, let the womenfolk have their way (within reason). Anything for a quiet life.
