Friendships with the opposite sex
24 Answers
I have spent almost my entire working life with people of the opposite sex. As I have moved from one job to another I have kept in touch with the ones who have become friends. Periodically I meet up with old colleagues, I even stay overnight at their home.
Having just mentioned to a friend that I am seeing an old colleague and am spending the night at his house, my friend is horrified. Is it really that weird to spend the night under the same roof as a good friend of the opposite sex.
BTW this is not new, I often meet him for drinks or dinner without anything untoward occurring.

He lived in Kent so when I worked in London for a year if I wasn't working at weekends I'd sometimes go stay at his house just to get away from my hotel.................as we were both divorced at the time my colleagues refused to believe nothing was going on.
to some it is. I am much the same, have many bloke mates. I used to have one mate come round most night and he would often fall asleep so I would leave him on couch. To others we were an item but nothing ever happened with us. But I let people think what they like. I am with someone now and would never be that pally with blokes. But I still dont see a problem with a mate staying round after the pub if they cant get home.
Not odd at all. I have a great mate who is male. We share certain hobbies and clear off for the day together. I used to stay at his house regularly when I lived in a different part of the country - now he stays here. My OH doesn't think its odd either, he's just pleased we can do our own thing together.
