water.....
6 Answers
I know its very obvious - but i've been dieting on and off for 18 months (since I had my baby) - so far I've lost just over 2 stone - some came off a lot easier than the rest, and I have had a few months of no dieting in the middle. Anyway - the last few weeks I decided to crack on with the diet again, but have really increased my water in-take over the last week and its made a huge difference! I basically eat my normal diet foods, but before every meal I have a pint of water, I have another pint of water after every meal, and if I have a snack I follow it with....a pint of water. Now I AM having to pop to the loo a lot more often in work, but it fills you up so much you don't want to eat so much, and just the thought of having to have a pint of water after a snack puts me off the snack. Just thought I'd share my tip with you all. I know that lots of water is obvious, but try it this way - and if you do, let me know if it makes any difference to your weight loss/eating habits....xxxx

I think it is probably your reaction to the punishment of forcing yourself to drink water you can't easily take after each snack that achieves something for you, at least between meals. If it works for you, then fine, but I'd rather have a soup for lunch that'll take up stomach space and will not be gone too quickly. Usually keeps me going until teatime.
(A little concerned you may be flushing away good nutrients/vitamins too, not that I'm an expert on these things.)

i think that overloading with water causes the stomach to enlarge and you will need to eat more to get ful in future!
i suggest sipping water all day to prevent dehydration, and having smaller lowfat meals to gradually allow the stomach to shrink gradually and naturally; then you will feel fuller sooner!

thanks for the advice - i'll try sipping it more tan downing pints of the stuff - kind of stopped that anyway as i couldn't handle the frequency of having to dash to the loo for a pee - also, sadly the weight loss appears to have plateaued now :-( think i'll have to give no carbs a go - but i do run out of ideas of what to eat - feel like i live on ham salad or soup when i'm no or low carb.....
