Got my blood test results today and my sugar is rather high 116 (55-100) but that seems ok to me. El medico has told me to halve my portions of rice, pots, bread, and pasta! Why? as they are not sweet. Obviously I am not allowed to chomp on the choccie biscuits any more! :0(

\\\rather high 116 (55-100) but\\\

A bit high......no big deal......not the end of the world ;-)

Was that a fasting blood sugar?

I agree with your El Medico, just cut down on the carbohydrates, bread, potatoes, alcohol, sugar in your teas and fruit juices and repeat the test in 6 months time........that would be my advice.

Nothing to do with sweetness (except you) all to do with carbohydrates.

Thanks sqad, no not a fasting test, in fact I ate a choc huesito the night before! but he kept banging on about being diabetic and were any relatives diabetic. Yes have to repeat in 6 months, which gives me time to enjoy England in May/june and then back here to behave!(food wise)
netty....well if it is not fasting, it is normal.....BUT...cut down a bit on the carbo's eh?
Question Author
Having just eaten a slice of white bread and clover, I think I had better cut down!!
Nety...after my swim at the Club today I had a bocodillo of jamon serrano con tomate..........just can't resist them.
Question Author
Oooh love them too, although the jamon serrano has to be very soft now cos have difficulty in chewing it!
Question Author
sqad over there do you have "medios con tomate" half a barra with oil and tomato on it, it is famous here as a breakfast, but we cannot get it anywhere place else?
nettty.....yes, the medios i have for breakfast EVERY morning except Sunday in which I have a "full English."

The jamon serrano MUST not be the cheapest, the best being pata nigra from the black foot pig.
