You really have opened a can of worms with what I believe to be a very good question.  Whether it is in the right section, or not, does not debase the value of the question itself.

I would venture that the meaning of life is a puzzle anyway!

However, to answer your question, I do not believe that life has a meaning.  Life IS.  It does not have to mean anything!

If you do not HAVE to do your report via the internet, then I ask you to consider whether it is not better to conduct your research within your neighbourhood. You can ask people WHY they believe as they do (which will give you a good indication as to whether they are misleading you or not) and can look into their eyes and pick up on body language (that will confirm it one way or another). AND you will have a much more rounded report.

I am sorry that I cannot give you what I believe the meaning of life to be. In line with my reasoning above, you do not know me nor can you know what has led to my believing as I do and therefore any answer I give could be misconstrued, with your report ending up with falsehoods that could lead to it not being taken seriously

This is THECORBYLOON, as promised, I posted lilabi's question in the Body & Soul section. Unfortunately,as is becoming a habit, I have been automatically suspended temporarily and as a result any Questions or answers given under my original name have been pulled and will not re-appear until reviewed by ABE (on Monday.)  That means lilabi's question and the replies she received can not be seen at present. 

Lilabi you may be better to post the question yirsel on Body and Soul or have a look at the replies to similar questions.

I am intrigued at biley's suggestion that body languge should be observed to determine the veracity of replies when asking questions. I would be very surprised if all those conducting opinion polls prior to the recent UK election had been given formal training in body language and made adjustments to the data accordingly.
