Helicobacter Pylori...

Was tested positive for this and prescribed a one-week course of antibiotics (two different types).
After taking them the discomfort felt worse, very painful so I returned to the doctor. He told me I can't be tested to check if the infection is still there until three months have passed, and also that the only thing I can do to help alleviate the pain is to lose a lot of weight.
Anyone else had HP please, and do you have any advice on how to deal with it? Thanks all.

I find omeprazole better than lanzoprazole (for general acid/ulcer stuff - negative for h pylori) so maybe try the other and see if it makes a difference or see if you can try a higher dose (with GP's ok) depending on the dose they have you on now.
