My body is aching, I have a slight temperature, sore throat, slightly headachey an a bit of a cough. My chest also hurts when I cough. It started last night.

Don't think I've got flu as I wouldn't be able to move if I had but form the above symptoms, any guesses?

hi tigg, have a word with your pharmacist.
flu like symptoms...may be daft but my hayfever can be like this when bad !!just like a very heavy cold !

Hi Anne, I wasn't going to go out, but maybe I'll take a trip to the Pharmacy like you say. Thanks x
a common cold
Maybe a cold coming on or a viral infection. Could be the start of flu but that would likely knock you flat. Get lots of rest and fluids, paracetamol to get your temperature down and relieve chest pain and sore throat and aches. Maybe with some codeine as a cough suppressant unless it's productive, in which case maybe best to get the crap out.
sounds like manflu. Are you sure you're the right sex?

Luckily I've never suffered with hayfever. Can it develop later in life?
Leave it out jno, if she had man flu she wouldn't be able to get out of bed.

I get colds frequently but this feels a bit different Nibble.

I've got some paracetamol so I'll take that Jenna.

Lol Jno, I was female last time I looked ;o)
im with nibble, you've got a common cold.

Suck it up you big girl :P
tiggs yes it can..never had it till I hit nearly 30 in Norfolk and it has been hell since !!!
no temperature with hay fever. A virus, not flu. Go to bed keep warm, drink plenty of fluids and take the painkiller of your choice.
tig, you could phone the pharmacist for advice.

Well, I've been up since 8, fed Little Tiggs and done some other things etc., but I'm starting to get a headache now. Really don't think its flu. Had that a few times in my life and and its completely knocked me out.
As a very rank outsider too, is there anything which could cause raised carbon monoxide levels, blocked chimney etc.. ? Very unlikely and far more likely to be a cold/virus with a temperature but never a bad thing to check.
Luckily I've never suffered with hayfever. Can it develop later in life?

Yes Tigger,it can start at any time. When my wife was in her late 50's a gypsy in Tenerife stuck a rose against her nose, after that she was sneezing for hours and has had hay fever ever since.
Question Author
Lol B00, you are probably right. There are different strains of cold so that may be why it doesn't feel like any cold I've had before.

Didn't realise I could do that Anne. I'll look up Boots pharmacy and give them a call later.

Thanks everyone x
may not be proper fever but the effort of coughing sneezing etc make me hot !!!
Question Author
Forgot to mention, I've got earache as well.
