I just thought I would give an update to THIS question I asked last week.

I took the glasses back and explained what was wrong with them, only to be told that I would have to pay more money to get lenses that I could see with!

I then told the assistant that I wanted my money back as they were not fit for purpose, making sure the rest of the potential customers in the shop knew exactly what was going on.

After taking advice from the manager, the assistant then said they would agree to upgrade the lenses (i.e. provide lenses that I could actually see out of) for no extra cost.

I'd like to thank all who replied with advice, it does pay to stick to your guns and argue the toss, especially with back up from y'all on here.

Well done, glad everything worked out okay for you., although it is annoying that you had to make a fuss to get something done.
Glad to see that they have sorted it out for you.
Hope the new lenses are O.K.

Good for you and I'm glad you got a good end result.

I don't wear glasses myself, but have heard several similar stories from friends who have these 'new' vari-focal lenses.
