Longterm Sore left arm?
19 Answers
I Woke up 8 months ago with a really sore left arm at the top, went to docs and she gave me ibuprofen and never seemed really bothered, (i h8 going the docs as it is) anyway the ibuprofen never worked and i just always tried exercising it and doing very light weights to try strengthen up the muscles (i presume its some kind of muscle/nerve damage?) it only hurts when i move it certain ways or rotate my arm/lift it in the air as if picking something up.
Anyway the pain has got worse over the last few days and i am now having shooting pains shooting right down my arm, so ive been taking ibufroren and funny enough they are stopping the shooting pains but not stopping the moving pain (as already tried and tested months ago) now i dont fancy going back to the docs as i know they will only refer me to a specialist or fob me off again with pills, would i be ok to go straight up to the hospital as the pain is getting worse and i know that it must be something quite serious for it to be happening this long. If i can go to the hospital, would it be possible to go late at night as its less busy and i will probably get seen quicker rather than wait around? Cheers for any advice. Kev

Google frozen shoulder and see if it fits your symptoms.

You have an acute exacerbation of a chronic condition by the sound of it... thats not even an urgent let alone an emergency. If you are really desperate to be seen in a hurry and you can afford it ask your GP to refer you to a private specialist for the initial consultation and tests expect to pay around £500 for a couple of appointments and scans/xrays
No, cant see any swelling but getting really pissed off with it now, 8 months its been doing my head in and deciding to get worse this last few days is just depressing me even more, ive been working through the pain barrier all this time and considering that i have always paid rip off taxes and hardly ever use my docs and havent used the hospital since i was a kid, then dont ya think i have a right just to use the hospital this once instead of resorting to private crap when already pay for these sort of sevices? just had enough of the pain now and sorry if i sound like im being ungreatful, thanks for ya replies.
Just a lil update, i never went to the hospital as i have looked into Puzzles diagnosis more and im now 99% sure that i have a frozen left shoulder!! Grrr but could be worse i guess!! it has obviously happened after i have slept on my side and my fat head has some how cut off the blood supply in my shoulder resulting in a frozen shoulder!! lol thanks Puzzled, first time ive ever heard of it but plenty of youtube exercise vids for it and people talking about it, many thanks for the feedback peeps!! Much appreicated. Kev ;)
