ok so im thinking about learning to drive again, i last had some manual lessons ages ago and due to blindness in one eye i find automatic a lot easier for me.
on average how much do you all think it will be to get started and get a car (lets say the car is £1000). So thats tax, insurance and all that.
just some deatails im 21,female and not a girl racer!
Depends on where you live and some other factors but your age is an issue - I'd be surprised if you could get insurance for less than £1,000 and I don't know if they'd load you for the blindness in the eye - I suspect they would due to the depth perception
jake-the-peg is way out, obviously not needed insurance for a young driver recently , £3000 to £5000 is more close to the mark. The insurance will be far more than the cost of the car . My 26 year old daughter in law pays £2800 a year and that is with 1 years NCB. For a car that cost £300!!
lumination, for a better idea go on one of the comparison web sites and put in you details . What you see may well make you decide not to bother with the cost of driving.
Actually EDDIE that's not always true, my son got insurance with NFU for way less than £1,000, for young drivers they always seem to be cheaper than any of the specialists companies that offer young driver special premiums- it does also of course matter where you live- don't think we've had a crime round here since 1685 and it was only for a Daewoo Matiz.
