Sleeping with a snorer

Well, being honest, I lie awake next to a snorer. Can anyone recommend some decent earplugs? I bought some foam type things from Boots that you compress and then stick in your ear before they expand and they were really uncomfortable.

that's a tribute to the sensitivity of your inner ear, I suppose. I've never had any trouble with earplugs. You can get them in different shapes, maybe worth trying others?

Has Harrison tried those nose things you put on to open your nostrils ? I have used them for myself when I had a headcold and couldn't breathe, they worked for that.

I sympathise Mrs O. I can't wear earplugs either. I have found shoving him onto his side works. Or if he is on his side gently pressing the base of his neck. (No, you misunderstand me, there was no bladed instrument involved in the latter manoevre).

Towie, he has every anti snoring device known to man..and none of them work.
The sharp elbow is deployed several times a night

then only industrial type headsets, those that builders wear will do the trick, likely to drown out the noise, whilst giving him the occasional Glasgow kiss.

Best I have found are called 'World's Finest' Natural Ear Plugs which I order online. I don't think you can buy them in the shops here. They are blue mouldable type and it can take a little while to get used to putting them in well, but they are good.

I sympathise. I usually just repeat over and over, 'Could you lie on your side please,' until OH moves. Mostly it works, but occasionally I just get bizarre shouty responses like, 'Can't you see I'm taking the dog out?' We don't have a dog.

As for earplugs, I did use the foam ones for a while, but I developed an allergy to them. Now I use Boots Soft Silicone which you mould into shape like the wax ones, but they stay sticky and remain in your ear. You can reuse them until the stickiness wears off.

I worked in a very noisy environment for years. I could not wear any kind of earplug and believe me I tried them all. When it became compulsory to wear them I grew my hair to hide my ears. My hearing is as acute as it ever was. If I were you I would stick with an elbow in the back.

The first Mr Craft was a snorer...............his second wife reckons he has been cured by wearing snore rings (from Boots) on both his little fingers.
