I was taking to a lady briefly yesterday and she told me she'd just had a couple of stents inserted into her fallopian tubes as she wants to come off the pill (I think she'll be in her early 40s) but no way wants another baby. I've never heard of this, so does anybody have any info?

I've never heard of it either. Seems a bit extreme.

Thank you sunny-dave for that link. I didn't know what to google for so thought I'd ask on here. However, I do know that this woman did have some kind of anaesthetic as she did feel groggy.
sunny-dave has given you the correct link and the procedure would have been done under sedation.

Hi sqad, is this something that is often done?
cocci...hi! no although the concept isn't new, very few units are doing the procedure.
I thought stents were to open things up, perhaps a couple of knots would have been better!

grange, that was the old procedure but it needed an operation. This is done as it says in 10 minutes.
