Aching testicle
27 Answers
My OH confided last night that he has had an aching leftie for "several weeks" (in Mr BM speak that probably means "several months"). He says that about 15 years ago he was told he had a cyst there which he thinks has got bigger (I had noticed the cyst, but haven't noticed a change). One night, he said the pain woke him up, but most of the time it is an intermittent ache. He also says the gland in his thigh is swollen. He has no other symptoms and everything else is quite normal (including libido).
Now I am hoping for a "no big deal" answer as to what it could be. Despite my protestations, Mr BM apparently does "not have time" to see his GP this week. I told him he was being a bit silly and it is probably nothing at all, but he ought to get it checked out. Until I win that particular argument, I am looking for some words of comfort to stop me laying awake all night worrying.........

This statement almost certainly rules out malignant disease.
The swelling is almost certainly in the epididymus and not the testicle and is either a spermatocoel or more likely a varicocoel, but...

He's just got a new job Excelsior after being out of work for 21/2 years and he starts next week. THAT is the root of this. I did explain that if it were me and I had a lump in say my breast, he'd have me off up the surgery quicker than a rat up a drain pipe!
Anyway, I WILL persuade him to go, I just need to stop worrying in the meantime.

The gland in the groin is likely to be coincidental.
No big deal.....see his GP and/or monitor the situation.

Had the same thing ten years ago, didn't fancy getting prodded by the doctor either, eventually went and was sent for a scan (more boxer dropping)
Turn out to be nothing serious and was put down to long hours of standing without adequate support, in other words my boxers weren't tight enough!
Tell him man up and see the doc!

Barmaid, when will he understand as the female proprietor in the relationship, they are not HIS testicles, they are yours? If you say that you want him to take your testicles to the doctor, he either complies or you make adjustments to his physical state such that you can take them yourself and he can go to work!
