Your AB Nickname

This has no doubt been asked before, but as I haven't been an ABer for very long, please forgive me!

 

Where did you get your nickname/monika for AB? Mine's very boring: mine and my husband's initials (smudge, you already know this and I know where yours came from because we had this conversation yesterday!). I'm useless at thinking up a nickie without it sounding obvious though, so I wondered where the inspiration came from.

Hey, is Thursday night a quiet night on AB? Not many new postings happening so far!

 

Unfortunately I'm going away for the weekend tomorrow and I won't be back until Monday or Tuesday so if anyone else replies to my question between those dates I won't see them till I get back. I'll still be really interested to read them though, because I have to get my head round this creative thing!

Hi Sammy Snake, was that when you were young? I remember my nephew - called Kenny - and my son - called Martin - named themselves 'Kenny the Kickin' Kangaroo and 'Martin the Mad Monkey'!

 

I never had a nickname when I was young, so I've nothing to fall back on! Sammy Snake's quite a good name though, because it's not overtly obvious that you're female when you post questions or replies.

mine means "old woman "in scottish gaelic I also use "bodach" from my home terminal which neatly means "old man"

Lillabet and Lilly are my family nicknames. When I was born my brother (age 3) didn't like my real name and would only call me Lillabet instead - it stuck.

He later renamed our little sister Fozzie after his favourite Muppet and that stuck too.

Hugo cos that's my cat's name, and boss cos it works, plus my cat really is the boss of the house! people think i'm a man cos of my nickname...i'm not!

My dad used to call me floss when I was little - to be fair he slips up sometimes and still calls it me! - Quite embarrassing if we're in public!!! :)

Mine is a childhood nickname, my mum and brother still call me this more often than my real name.

FP started off as Fake Plastic (Radiohead fan), but got shortened to FP as people began to refer to me as FP.

Bones is my real nickname, due to the ever popular Jones surname. Several silly permutations have been used in the past like BonioMeal, Boner, BoneHead etc. Mate moved to Ireland and he started putting O on the start of his nick, so to make him feel at home I adopted OBonio as an online nick on AIM. Pretty boring really. Also use Cuzzer, from Curry Monster when I used to eat nothing but...

Mine is from my surname Goodsvenson and Goodsmeister has been a nickname of mine for years, in fact I cant remember how or who started it.
