Prolonged QT interval

Got to have an ECG tomorrow because I'm on Quetiapine and it mentions somewhere that Q may cause a prolonged QT interval. Had a quick look on the web and I've terrified myself when I read what this means.

I assuming that all will be ok because I would have had signs and symptoms if I had a problem? Am I correct?

Don't panic and get of the internet.

I am not an expert in mental disorders, but a prolonged Q-T is very unusual as aside effect of Quetiapine.

Even if ECG shows a prolonged Q-T it is invariably symptom free and does not require treatment.

Does that mean I get a free holiday? ;-)
not necessary...the qt problem is a serious one and does affect the electrical pulses given by your heart. the ecg will clearly show if you suffer from this problem and send you for further tests if necessary. there are also other drugs they can prescribe if quetiapine is not suitable. it's good that they are doing an ecg, because many people prescribed that group of drugs don't get any tests.....which is incredibly poor practice. be happy with your doctor for being a responsible practitioner and try not to worry....it's unlikely to affect you x
