We had a Chicken Korma Curry for our evening meal made and doctored by mei courtesy of a jar of Korma sauce from Morrisons .Boil in the bag Basmati rice .
It was very tasty .But we just ate it and that as that .
I've been cooking for my family for nearly forty years, although it's now just us two mostly and I also used to cook for a living .I used to enjoy cooking but I find it a total chore these days .
I'm of the generation that can stretch a chicken or joint of meat for a week yet these days I have no motivation and I buy all sorts of ready chopped veg etc . Mainly due to fumble fingers although I'm not an advocate of the ready meal culture either .
Do any of you people of my age (64) get cheesed off with cooking every day and wondering what to cook ? I wish I could win the lottery and not have to worry about it :)

I hate it being my responsability to have to decide what we are eating, go buy the stuff and then to have to cook it, every ruddy day. Don't do ready meals and ususally make a desert or have some cake made, I must be mad. I hate cooking but I love eating so as no one else will do it I suppose I'm stuck with the job.

Me too shaney...I used to do a dinner every day from scratch, I made pastries, cakes, puddings, never saw it as a chore...and it was all eaten without complaint!
Now I'm the same as Starbuck, I tend to think a good quality ready meal is better than a snack. I don't have two dinners but I've been known to have two puddings :o)

I might be somewhat younger and a chef but I hate thinking up mid week meals. I find it really difficult to think up something interesting that can realistically be cooked for two people with out loads of waste or a lot of left overs.
I have no problem with ready meals and cook in sauces if they give people the confidence to try new foods and ingredients that they might then be inspired to try to cook from scratch and perfect to their own taste.

I love to cook but havent for a good many years Granddad G was a chief cook in the Royal Navy and then did it for a living when he came out andd he still enjoys it. When I gave someone my recipe for cauliflower cheese at work they said ooh can you cook - of course I can bL**dy cook - I felt a bit miffed. I'm not averse to the odd ready meal - even a pot noodle or two but not all the time - Same age as you shaney
I have been cooking meals for the past 52 years and I'm heartily sick of doing so, even trying to find something different is a chore. Mrask isn't a fan of ready made meals from a supermarket. He likes his steak pies, Yorkshires, and roasts cooked fresh. I love eating out but he would rather eat at home. He does like pasta which is quick to do, I don't like pasta much, so on those rare occasions he will have pasta with garlic bread, and I'll have stir fry. And I hate washing up too.
I don't like washing up either AYG ..I spent years standing over the sink every night after work although I have give to credit where it's due Mr S did help and the kids mucked in .The funniest thing was when Mr S retired and the sprogs started to make their own arrangements he bought me a dishwasher :)
