Accurate and reliable (and cheap ish !!!) breathalyser

I'm after a breathalyser, preferably one that has a digital display - not one of them crappy, key-ring style ones.
I've just had a quick look on Ebay and there's LOADS - I just wouldn't know where to start ......
Does anyone know of any decent breathalysers out there that wouldn't cost the earth ???

why bother.the police do them for free! just dont drink and drive.

The fact that this is a device to ensure you are under the limit, why not stick to the guide lines? To my way of thinking any breathalyser on offer to the general public is unlikely to be accurate anyway.

It is possible that the OP may be considering driving in Europe where it is planned that drivers should be obliged to carry such a device together with a hi-vis jacket and red warning triangle (the latter two already requirements in France).

The daily telegraph advertise one that is supposed to have good reviews.

The warning triangle and high vis jacket (one per available seat in the car) are already requirements in Germany as well. The breathalyser is required in France now but so far not here. Cheapo ones are apparently available in French supermarkets for between one and three euros, but I gather they're not terribly accurate. Better ones can cost quite a lot.

I have just bought the whole kit, for travelling through europe. I got everything from Halfords. The breathalysers were in a pack of two, and were £5.99

Just goes to prove how important AB is - had no idea these were required for European Travel. Apols for my naive answer Gizmonster.

Halfords also have a leaflet that shows you exactly what is required per country you will travel through. If you are stopped and you don't have the correct kit, there may be a large fine. The breathalysers are just about to come in for France. If stopped by the police, apparently you will have to provide them yourself for them to check you.

Just to clarify why I want this ...... I do drink (weekends only) but I never drive until well into the following afternoon, sometimes even later and sometimes I don't drive at all. I'm just curious sometimes, if I'm over or under the limit. I would NEVER consider driving if I was still rough from the night before, even if I thought I was under the limit, or even if one of these devices confirmed that it was legal for me to drive.
Sometimes when I get up mid-morning for a pee, I'm curious as to how much over the limit I'd be ......
