Hi - I had this fitted in April 2011, was having problems with periods and blood pressure so was advised to come off the pill and have this fitted. Have to say I have been very please - occasionally get a bit of spotting and slight tummy ache as if periods were coming but really nothing to bother me and no actual period. This weekend a period came and has pretty much lasted til now - anyone any idea why this would happen, is it likely my periods are back (I hope not!). I am 42. I don't know if it is connected but went to donate blood yesterday and they wouldn't let me as Iron levels v low - have to make appoint to see nurse but also donation centre have sent blood away to be checked. I feel fit and healthy (got steak and spinich in for dinner tonight!).

Go to your doc and get the coil checked - it may have become dislodged?

oh dear I didn't realise that could happen. thanks
You ought to have it checked annually, to make sure it's not shifted. http://endometriosis.org/treatments/mirena/

thinking back I remember getting told if it shifted I would probably know about it but if there was any concerns then to go back so I suppose this shoudl be treated as a concern, thanks
