Household salt, or sugar, mixed with olive oil or baby oil, then applied & rubbed, is supposed to help remove the top layer of skin - and it's cheap - and it should exfoliate nicely. Have also heard of toothpaste being used to tone down fake tan, though guess you'd need a lot of that. Likewise, you could try oatmeal mixed with oil.
I certainly wouldn't use domestos - ouch !!
For future use, if you want a not too expensive fake tan, I'd try Boots' Soltan range, or the Tesco own brand range. Not for nothing is Wilko's known as cheap & cheerful - they're great for household basics but I wouldn't trust them to look after my body !
