How's the no smoking going Crafty? Are you still on the E-cigs? I've recently come across this forum whilst Googling, and joined. Their advice regarding E-cigs is invaluable and they've very helpfully helped me choose my next upgrade.

My E-cig whilst helping me to combat cigarettes, doesn't give me enough ooomph or the vapour plume when I "smoke" them, so i'm eagerly awaiting my new one to come via the posty.

To anyone else considering giving up smoking and switching to 'vaping' I highly recommend this site.

B00 so good to hear you are getting on with this thingy. i remembered you tried a while since and succumbed once more to cigs. I gave up four years ago and apart from an extra pound or so on the hips, all the positives are worth it. Well done you x

Yeah, I gave up about 2 years ago (ish?) and lasted 6 months flumpy. However this time I think i can really do it, as im now more informed about ECigs. I don't think i could go cold turkey, I need something to do with my hands and mouth and Mr Boo's suggestion in that regard didn't go down too well :P
So is the idea to replace real cigs with ecigs then? Or will you be fighting to give up ecigs with dcigs in the future?
B00 I need something to do with my hands and mouth
And by using ecigs aren't you just reinforcing the habit?
but there's nothing wrong with using your hands and mouth as such, ladybirder. It's the (real) cigarettes that are evil.
I'm just repeating what my doctor said jno. What I have said on here before is, there have been warnings in the media about the sh1te that gets put in SOME of the ecigs by the unscrupulous as they are to date unregulated.
Kiki - I tend to still go downstairs with the smokers as I like to pretend I'm still part of it. Recently I was on a course and I 'smoked' my e-ciggie after my lunch in the hall and people just seemed interested in, no one complained. My manager has told me she'll slap me if I take it out in a meeting or sit at my desk tugging on it though... She's kind like that.
what are e cigs? how do they work?
Can someone answer my 11.12 post please. I'd like to know how you will give up the ecigs.
An electronic cigarette, or e-cigarette, is an electrical device that simulates the act of tobacco smoking by producing an inhaled vapor bearing the physical sensation, appearance, and often the flavor (with or without nicotine content) of inhaled tobacco smoke, without its odor or, ostensibly, its health risks. The device uses heat (or in some cases, ultrasonics) to vaporize a propylene glycol- or glycerin-based liquid solution into an aerosol mist, similar to the way a nebulizer or humidifier vaporizes solutions for inhalation.

^^^ See above bednobs... I stole it from wikki as it would have taken me too long to type! :c)

bloody hell ladybird, i was at work, gimme a chance will you?

I won't be giving up the Ecigs, I like them.
Ladybirder as they are not harmful, why would users want to give them up ?
I'm still struggling along B00, still having a few ciggies first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I know it's better than smoking the whole time but it's not what I'm aiming for. I have bookmarked your links to look at later in depth.

Awww, thought you'd given up smoking cigs altogether Crafty, is it because the ECig's not cutting it? If it is, have a look at that site when you've got some time, a bigger, better E Cig can really help that way.
B00 sorry but I was addressing anybody who is using ecigs, not necessarily you. I have posted before about my daughter who smokes as many ecigs as she did roll-ups, has a row of them on charge at all times, and has been doing this for 5 months now. As she used to buy tobacco in France and not cigs she's hardly saving any money and she says she feels no benefits whatsoever for having given up. And she's in a permanent filthy mood as if it's my fault. She won't even discuss if/when she's going to give up the ecigs and I wondered if any of you had a time plan for packing them in.
Flump, see my post @ 11.23 as to why people might want to give them up.

Ahh right, ive always been a grumpy mare ladybird, so don't think anyone can tell the difference as far as i'm concerned, lol.

Once I've settled on the ecig that gives me the ooomph i want, it will definitely be cheaper than smoking for me. As ive said, ive no intentions of giving them up, I like it.
B00, if i went into a shop (or even passed a shop) where someone was smoking an e cig behind the till i would not shop there -it looks awful!!!

ok bednobs??? Not sure why you felt the need to say that though??
I am still on the filtered rollies and lovin it. You shall all have to come to terms with the fact that I shall be taken from you at a premature age. Sympathy cards and wreaths can be forwarded to CD.
i was just responding to your earlier post i guess about how you have a fag behind the till (well, an e-fag!) and your manager not having said anything about it - my guess is if she sees you doing it she might (or if a grumpy person like me complains to her - not that i'm likely to see you - i live dan sarf)
I find it just so strange to see people smoking - none of my friends, family or social circle smoke. I saw someone getting out of their car at sainsbury's the other day with a fag in their mouth and immediately thought "you can't do that" before i realised that it was open air and of course they can!
