road safety film for schools
Do you remember in the sixties and seventies, sitting cross legged in the school hall, watching information films?
Well, when I was about 10 (1974ish), i was chosen along with a boy from my class to star in the new road safety one!
What a wonderful afternoon we had - the "film" consisted of still photos of us pretending to cross the road in various ways. There was a particularly exciting bit where we had to get an ice cream from an ice cream van, and run out from behind it without looking.
(I kept eating the point off mine so they had to keep topping it up!
Anyway, we never got to see the film because it was to be released the following year when we both went to the local grammar school and they didn't show the films there.
My question is - got there at last - what colour were the van driver's eyes?
Ha ha, sorry. No, I'm wondering if these films have been kept, and how i would go about looking for it. I think it's really sad that there is a roll of film starring me, sat on a shelf somewhere gathering dust. Do you think i've no chance or should i try and find it?
