Oh, no. Another bite.

I have just finished a course of antibiotics for a bite on my leg which became infected and now I have another bite on my arm which appears to be going the same way. It's already at duck egg proportions.

Why do I react so badly to bites? Is there anything I can do to stop this over -reaction?

hi tilly. the yeast tablets really do work.....the last time i went to the south of france, i was the only one out of a party of 12 who didn't get bitten. i hate marmite, so used tablets instead - everybody else got munched beyond belief. it's not a pretty look, is it? x

Lol Jno, I know the feeling. It was when the doctors and nurses kept gathering people to have a look at me like a freak show was when I realised I should take some commemorative pictures. I didn't take any before the op though, wish I had now. And poor you, I've had quite a few huge abcesses that have all required surgery but none on my face. The scar on my leg is perfectly round and I tell people who don't know that it's a bullet wound, it's more interesting that saying I got bitten by an invisible insect but I'm not sure I'd be happy about it being on my face.

the scar on my face where they hoovered the poison out is more than an inch long. It's probably my best point, really. I just tell people I belong to a Prussian duelling society.

My son is smothered. Dont know if it helps but he has been spraying himself with the insect repellent that we normally take abroad lol

My bite is now goose egg proportions and has a blister on it the size of a five pence piece. Look like another course of antibiotics when I can get an appointment. Bought some Jungle Formula lotion today. I am not getting bitten again!
