Glitter Shellac Nails

Hi,

Has anyone had any shallac nails done? and did you have glitter over the top?

Was the glitter the same colour as the shellac or was it a sparkle colour glitter that you could use on any colour?

Hikat,

Rite no expert in glitter shellac nails, but had them done glitterry once with shellac before, however as a regular shellac user i have had all i think colours done over the past year or so. Glitter i had done once with black nails then silver glitter. Turned out really really vampish and cool, and not too young - i am 33 so aware that some nails dont neccesarily suit certain hands imho....i thought a bit daring for office wear which i had on for 10 days in total, but really really nice for a nite out!

Thanks for your reply! ive got some hot pink shellac that i use just on my toes, so i guess i could use a pink or a silver glitter.

Yeah same or similar colours work i think, contrasting colour can be a bit much. Silver glitter, however, works with anything, but pink nails, black glitter i think perhaps a no no-mind you i am always ready to try things out!!

Good luck, i have strawberry smoothie on its own on rite now, like a french manicure but toned down, as my own whites shine thru. Nicenonetheless....

Silver glitter on hot pink would be lovely in my opinion. Very girly!!! I love girly!

Im really impressed ive had it on my toes 2 week and it still looks fab. Not sure id be brave enough for the pink on my fingers though.

Thats where the strawberry smoothie comes in a treat, its a vy shiny, glassy milky pink, that you can just still see through....only just though. Shocking oink is quite harsh i agree, however with the silver glitter you may be onto a winner? I would try it. Not multi coloured glitter though, just silver.

What is shellac? I thought it was the stuff you had done at a salon, and then had to have removed at a salon, but if you are going to order some, then I must be thinking of something else.

Puzzled54, It is done at salons but you can buy it online also which i do and do it at home.

I think what kat means is she has ordered it for herself, you can get the UV lamps too online, often works out cheaper than salon prices if tou can do it yourself.

I was thinking about getting shellac nails done. I'm not allowed to wear nail varnish at work but you are allowed to have gel nails. I dunno if I fancy gel nails. What are the main differences between the two?

It goes on and looks like a polish but lasts like gel, how come you can wear gel and not polish erin?

Because polish chips... I've never had gel nails done so i'm assuming they don't chip? =s

I used to love painting my nails but had to stop when I got this job :( I worked in Superdrug before and always had customers asking about my nails!

it could come off Erin, ive seen girls at work were the gel has just lifted off in one full piece. Not sure about shellac as ive never used it on my fingers.
