morning guys,
wrong catagory I know but it seems most early birds come to this section. Anyone ever broke their ribs? broke mine 2 days ago and am in agony, I only slept for about 3 hours last night. Im exhausted. Pain killers are as about as much use as rubber lips on a woodpecker. On top of this im in court in 2 hours, going to look like a right nob trying to stand in the dock.
If anyones got any tips in the next couple of hours on dealing with the pain it would be much appriciated.
Thanks all.
I don't have any tips I'm afraid, I think all is done these days is to provide pain-killers (which don't do much as you know)
Have you got time to go to the chemist and ask about stronger pain relief?
I've read some of your posts and can only offer my sympathy and best wishes.
they dont even strap broken ribs up anymore, so the pain must be awful, agree with alba go speak to your friendly local chemist and good luck with the court, pls let us all know how you got on.
Just for today, make sure that whatever painkillers you take leave you clear-headed for your court appearance - but make sure too that the court officials know you have broken ribs, if it's more comfortable they may let you sit rather than stand.
...mmm...you didn't say how many nailit...just the one or two maybe...or all of 'em....that would be really tender...I cracked a rib once and it was painful....breathing in hard was worst so just shallow breathing and painkillers, Nice tight crepe bandage helped too....
Thanks for replies guys, very much appriciated.
Only in magistrates for a drunk and incapable charge, small fine I should imagine. In crown for a trial in about 6-7 weeks, hope my ribs better by then...
Just been taking paracetomol, will pop in chemist a bit later. Just want be able to get some sleep So tired I feel like im on another planet.
I've had broken ribs before, and yes, it hurts! The trouble is with a court appearance you'll need to be coherent to give a good account of yourself, so it's probably safest to stick with paracetamol.
