Always a long weekend when you get something wrong with you when you cant get to see a doctor or dentist. Nothing major, I just woke up this morning with a nasty mouth ulcer. I have put some adult bonjella on it but it
hasn't helped much. It's right onthe very back of my tongue which is an awkward spot to reach. Anyone got any home remedies?

Rinse with tepid salty water. Keep it in the affected area for as long as you can.
my dentist recommended gengigel which I found very good. It is a bit stronger than bonjella
Oh, sorry, I hope it clears up quickly x

Thankyou both, I may try gengigel when I can get to a chemist.
Not really cupid, they're very annoying for sure, gargle some mouthwash 2 - 3 times a day to take the sting out but I'm afraid they have to take their own course.

Thankyou Sibton, it's making it uncomfortable eating and of course I'll have to avoid any food or drink that is too acidy!

I have just found some antiseptic mouthwash at the back of my medicine
cupboard, thanks gem.
Lol at Mick, I'm afraid I don't like fosters!
Mouth ulcer is hardly enough to warrant a visit to your GP is it?

Wet finger, dip into salt, dab on ulcer

Stings a bit but heals it quicker
i sort of thought that JL, if it had been a weekday, you would have gone to your gp or dentist about this?
I agree with Joeluke and Bednobs. This is definitely not a GP or even a dentist issue. I would just gargle with salt water and put up with it until it went.
