Are there any doctors on here

My brother wakes up with lumps on his body, they are like when a mosquito bites and leaves a white bump. They are not mosquito bites or bed bugs which we have established and they go down as the day progress. What is this? and why does he get them. His medical history is not all rosy, he injected steroids for several years, then dabbled in drugs, also is bulimic. I am concerned for him

Are they sore or itchy or do they weep at all etc... ? Is there any evidence of him scratching in the night, does he have any pets? Does he have any real feather pillows or a duvet or have issues such as bad nightmares or other problems that could cause stress in his sleep?
I had hives come up randomly, no obvious cause and they went down with an antihistamine - probably just stress or something allergic.
A pharmacist could be an good initial ask - can he go and see one where he can show the lumps, if not, could he take photos?
If it is recurring then he needs to determine properly what they are rather than assuming if they continue and don't respond quickly to something like a simple over the counter antihistamine or some kind of trigger can be identified.
Depending on the severity of his bullimia he should also ask advice about any medications to make sure they are safe and will be effective.

He is 42, we are all worried about him, he wont accept he has other problems. He has had bulimia for 17 years, this started when he was body building, along with the other things. He has since put on weight and got a beer belly. He has antihistamines, and GP has sent him for full blood count, thyroid tests, etc. Hope some good comes out of this. He will not appreciate me putting this on a public forum......lol
My son had exactly same problem a few years ago when he was a small child. He would go to bed clear and wake up in the morning covered in hives. Our doctor eventually sent us to the hospital. They didn't know what the actual cause was they said it could be lots of things such as stress, excitement, heat, cold, illness. He had to take antihistamine every day and they said we would probably never know what caused it. Over time it disappeared and it has reoccured odd times when he has had a virus or is worried about something such as GCSEs. I would recommend he goes to see his GP and I'm sure he will prescribe antihistimines which do work.
