FAO Sqad please

Sqad - hope you can help please? Late this afternoon I was just sitting quietly when suddenly I had a very sharp stabbing pain in my right breast, it felt like a knife going in and made me gasp out. It only lasted a few seconds and was gone, but since then I have had the same pain every 15 mins or so, always in the same place, it seems to be on the lower half of the breast in the middle. Of course I am terrified, I have examined myself for a lump (I always check anyway) and there is nothing thankfully. I had a mammogram less than a year ago. Could it be a nerve pain? Because thats how it feels ............ please advise what you think it could be? Many thanks.

Get it checked out though if it doesn't go away, let us know how you get on x

Thanks Sqad. Have had a good night knocked out with Ibuprofen! Have only just got up and as yet I have only had the pain very slightly once. Just googled Texidors Twinge as you suggested and it says that occurs in the chest wall (mine is inside the actual breast not chest) and on left side (mine is right breast) It is nothing to do with my breathing, I can just be sitting perfectly still and it starts to flutter like a muscle spasm or nerve pain just for a couple of seconds - could it perhaps be a pinced nerve? Whatever it is, its jolly scary and I wish it would go away, i will see how it is today and keep you informed. I have never had a pain in my breast before even when I was younger. Thanks for your help.
Thanks to you all for your replies, I am so grateful. I know I'm a worrier, but it really isn't pleasant and so intense. I have just had it twice this morning since I got up an hour ago, last night the pain was coming every few minutes. Its good to know others have had it too and that it will go as suddenly as it came. My Hubby wants me to go to the doctors but our surgery is so busy you can't get an appointment within a week or so ........ its our Anniversary today 44 years, so I will try to go out and forget about it .......thanks again everyone! xx
Hi Ann. Happy anniversary! Go out and have a lovely time. Don't worry...as said it's very common. I had it some years ago then it vanished never to return. So did the friend who is coming to dinner tonight. Hers....about twenty years ago...bothers me more than her because she keeps bloody well telling me what it was like. :-) Nothing wrong with her memory.
Enjoy tonight. Gx

Hi all - an update. Relieved to say I've only had a few small twinges of pain today, nothing like it was last night, I can't tell you how bad it was, I was shouting out with the pain. Thanks to you all for your reassurances, it made me feel such a lot better and not so scared. Amazed to hear a lot of people get it ......I do wonder what causes it? but never want it again!!! I'm not usually such a wimp with pain!
Re: today. Had a great time, afternoon and evening at our friends house, they did a fantastic BBQ, it was a really warm evening and we sat outside until 9.45pm and first watched the beautiful sunset then the night sky watching the planes coming in to land at East Midlands. A lovely evening for our Anniversary with special friends. Thanks all x
Parkdale, hope you had a lovely Anniversary too last Friday, 1968 was obviously a vintage year ;)

Thanks DT - feel a bit of an "old" fool now, moaning on about my aches and pains! I only really wanted Sqad's expert advice! Its a real give away on age isn't it when you tell everyone how many years you have been married! We had a great evening, we took along our wedding album and let our friends have a huge laugh at the sight of two (slim) 20 year olds they didn't recognise!!! That was really brave of us wasn't it ;)
