Now that the sun has arrived I've starting wearing sandals again "Hooray". But I find because I haven't worn them for almost a year my feet start blistering. It's a nuisance and this morning I've got blisters after just 2 hours. So now I have to go out lunchtime and find a cheap pair of sandals that won't rub... prob. flip flops.

Does anyone have any good advice to avoid this happening?

Sorry happy_face can't help much with the prevention part but can recommend a new type of plaster made by Scholl (I think) they are specifically made for blisters. They look like normal plasters but where the pad is they have a jelly like bit that sits on top of the blister, I got some in Boots.

Thank you Libertie. Might just get some of those too when I go out lunchtime.
Dry soap - rub on the part of the shoe that gives you blisters.
Have this problem also, happy face.  Tried Footworks Anti Friction Balm from Avon on last holiday.  It seemed to work.  Just rub on parts where sandals rub before wearing them.  Worth a try.

I tend to rub vaseline onto the edges of the shoes that rub and flex them every so often so that they eventually soften and don't rub.

I do only tend to buy cheap shoes though but it works for me.

hello happy_face, I suffer the same every year and have started to always carry plasters aorund with me in my make up bag, gym bag whatever, nothing worse than being in agony with each foot step. .....

With any new shoes, I always apply a small plaster to a likely sore point BEFORE I get a blister. Generally after a few wears the shoe has softened enough to dispense with plasters. The greasing idea sounds worth a try though.

Thanks a lot everyone. I shall be trying all of them as they all sound like good advice.
