Are these completely different. Which can you wear when working in a theatre area of a hospital. I,m lead to believe that they have a special sole (earthed)??

I believe, in theatre you have to wear shoes that don't have holes in the front part, which crocs do.
what happens if the surgeon drops his scalpel - and I am not talking of them throwing them......open shoes, I don't think so.
Doesn't matter one single "jot."
Wellies, clogs, crocs..........whatever you are comfortable in.

Me? Wellies.

Always put your name on them and make sure that nobody junior to you wears them.
wellies - these days you can get wellies in lots of different colours. When I was a girl it was green or black.
Never seen green or black wellies........they were always white.

Green scrub gowns though.
tenrec, Crocs have a huge range of footwear, the ones with the holes are only one style.

crocs are awful things, clogs are not comfy for standing for long periods. Wellies are fine. When I was a girl they only came in black, and left a red ring around your calf. Now you can get coloured or patterned ankle wellies.
I tried crocs for a while (generally, nothing to do with surgery!) and they were really comfy, my fella at the time was none to impressed though!

So many wellies about at the moment with the big festival clothing craze going on. Seen some great ones round here with some of the big gigs on like when Oasis were playing a couple of years ago.

I find scrubs quite sexy (depending on who they are on), especially the lovely surgeon who came to see me when I was admitted when my gallbladder went evil - shame I was a complete state and not really in a position to appreciate it much!

OK thanks guys!!! been told that I will be supplied with scrubs and footwear but don't like the thoughts of wearing footwear that is shared about!! (gonna get my own) !! Didnt know they wore wellies like!!
you can get crocs without holes in. At my local a and e most of the staff wear them.
in surgery you have to wear closed, strong shoes....and crocs do not fit that remit! by all means get your own shoes....if you buy the nursing times, they advertise lovely, comfy and appropriate footwear from 'proper' companies.
lcg, as I posted above, Crocs make all sorts of styles of footwear, they even make wellies. They are more comfortable than ordinary wellies and would definitely be my choice above any others if I had to be on my feet for a long time in them.
I wouldn't have thought clogs would be all that appropriate, well unless you intend to go clip clippety clop on the stair!
