Not my day....

I woke up at six this morning with a streaming nose and feeling lousy so I crawled back under the duvet. Get woken up at 09.30 and tried very hard to sound bright and sparkly when talking to client. The phone continued to go non-stop until 11.30 since then I've enjoyed a quiet day gently getting on with my work.

Can't be bothered going to too much bother for my supper tonight so thought I'd cook some beetroot for a salad later. Once I started slipping the skins off the phone range three times and the doorbell went once. I have spent the last half an hour trying to work out just how far around the house I have spread beetroot juice.....

On a more positive note I now have a rather fetching white t-shirt with purple spots!

I might have a toddy with my beetroot salad :-(

EC, you have my sympathy, my day has been precarious. Ie, I have walked a thin and precarious line between killing someone and not killing someone. The final straw came at 3pm. I can't even have a glass of wine because I have the stepson with me.

Eccles....so sorry mate (he lied) I have had a fabulous day, breakfast tostado con tomate with jamon serrano ( my favourite)..went to the Club and had a few laughs, returned to the villa and watched the Red Arrow display and am now going to email Barmaid and ask her to elope with me......

Tony, in between reaching for tissues I have dipped into those threads....nothing changes but good to see her back. I have a strange affection for her, hugely infuriating and I frequently want to give her a big (tight) hug around the throat but do feel there are a whole load of issues going on...

Brinjal, I adore beetroot and will be having a salad of beets, feta and walnuts with a balsamic dressing. I though I had some oranges to go with it but they must be hiding somewhere.

I'm ignoring all you silly boys......;-)

So do I, beetroot soup (with cream and chives), beetroot purée or mousse, beetroot and goats cheese soufflé, beetroot in salad with goats cheese.......roast beetroots, tad of chilli, chipotle or ginger with them......
